New CGC/TDI
Mira (AKC CH/ UKC NBOB CH Cherrysh Mi Corazon Miracle, CDCA HC, CGC, TDI) earned her Canine Good Therapy (CGC) and Therapy Dog (TDI) titles January 2, 2009 at the age of 6 1/2 years old. Mira is owned by the Geretz family of St. Louis Park, MN.
New UKC Champion
Libby (AKC/UKC CH HaTikva Cherrysh The Dream, CDCA HC) completed her UKC championship at the 2008 ICDCA Specialty weekend. Libby is bred and owned by the Geretz family of St. Louis Park, MN.
New AKC Champion
Mazel Tov Yomi Bat Barak finished her AKC Championship at 10 months of age
on Saturday October 23 at the Middleburg Kennel Club Show going Best of Opposite
Sex over 22 Canaan Dog bitches, which gave her a 5-point major to add to
three previous 4-point major Best of Breeds. She also passed her Herding
Instinct Certification. Yomi is bred and owned by Cathi and Craig Oskow
of MN.
New AKC/UKC Champion
Cherrysh Fire and Rain, owned by Lee Boyd and bred by Jerry & Cheryl
Hennings fisnished his AKC and UKC Championship in 2004, ending the year
as the #1 Canaan Dog in UKC and in the top ten in AKC.
New UKC Champion
At the Florida Toy Fox Terrier Association shows in Wesley Chapel, Florida,
Cherrysh My Nobilis Aljan, "Dune", was Best Male, Best of Winners, Best of
Breed and Group 1 to finish his U.K.C. Chmapionship. Dune is owned and
handled by Caren Curtiss of Albion, NY.
Multi Champion
Mira (Cherrysh Mi Corazon Miracle) earned her UKC championship in 3 days
(October 2003) and earned her AKC championship in January 2004. So
she is now AKC/UKC CH Cherrysh Mi Corazon Miracle CDCA HC. Mira is
co-owned by Alla Geretz and Cheryl Hennings and lives with Alla and her family
in Minnesota.
What a well-behaved guy!
Cherrysh Midnite At The Oasis, better known as Jake, earned his CGC and
his Therapy Dog International certification in January 2004. Jake and owners
Keith and Cheryl Shank live in Minnesota.
New Cd
Ch. Pleasant Hill Tovah added a CD to the end of her name on August 10!
Tovah and owner Cathi Oskow earned a respectable score of 187 to complete
their final leg. The team lives in Minnesota.
A busy Fall
Kochav Ole me Shaar Hagai (Tal) and Bay Path's Sufat Hol both finished
their AKC Championships. Tal is owned by Victor Kaftal and Sufi by
Sheryl Glass. Both were being shown by Cheryl Hennings at the time
they finished.
New UKC Champion
Spirit Bay Ha'Aretz Gideon finished his UKC Championship in July.
Gideon is owned and shown by Wendy Sostock.
It was an exciting weekend
The ICDCA Specialty was held on June 13, 2002 in conjunction with U.K.C.'s
Premier. Among the highlights of the weekend:
Ch. Bay Path's Amitz (owned by Jerry Hennings & Sandra Fournier) became
the breed's first Grand Champion.
Barak me Shaar Hagai (owned by Myrna Shiboleth & Cheryl Hennings) completed
his U.K.C. Championship in 3 straight shows.
UCD Ch. Kochav Ole me Shaar Hagai (owned by Victor Kaftal) was Best of Breed
at the Top Ten Invitational.
Canaan Dogs showcased their versatility by competing in Agility, Obedience
and Weight Pull competitions.
Victor Kaftal's UCDX Holit Beit Dada placed 4th in Open A on Friday and
UCD Ch. Kochav Ole me Shaar Hagai placed 3rd in Open A on Sunday.
Lee Boyd's UAGII Ch. Micah Haviv me Kansas, CD, NA, CGC, TT placed 4th in
Novice B on Saturday with a score of 197 and qualified with a score of 191
on Sunday to finish his UCD.
DJ Ha'Aretz Boaz of Gray Mesa, owned by Donna & Jackie Davison, became
the first Canaan Dog to compete and qualify in Weight Pull. He hauled
325 pounds!
Way to go everyone!!!!
Barak adds to his impressive list of titles
In March, Barak me Shaar Hagai finished his AKC championship in Dubuque,
Iowa. He won two singles his first weekend in the USA with his breeder,
Myrna Shiboleth. He went on from there with Cheryl Hennings to get five majors
and four Best Of Breeds thus far. That now makes him: World Winner 2001, European
Winner 2001, Tel Aviv Winner 2001, Luxemburg/Israeli/International/AKC Champion
Barak me Shaar Hagai. He also has three CAC's in France!
Jennie and Tycho earn titles in multiple sports
Jennie Larkin and Fuligin Ged Tycho, HC, CGC, CD, NA completed Tycho's
CDX on February 17! A few weeks later Tycho earned his NAJ agility
title with placements! Look for an OA agility title from the pair soon.

Two New Champions
At the Maayan Harod International Show under Judge Rita Trainen, Toffee
me Shaar Hagai became an Israel Champion and Isr. Ch. Bein HaArbaim me Shaar
Hagai became an International Champion! Both are bred and owned by Myrna
Shiboleth of Israel.
New AKC Champion

Aviva Oskow - Best Junior Handler
Aviva Oskow was named Best Junior Handler at the Wisconsin Toy Fox Terrier
Club Show #2 in Burlington, WI on July 14. Aviva accomplished this
feat while handling a borrowed dog! - Pleasant Hill Anastasia, loaned for
the event by Cheryl Hennings.
New U.K.C. Champions
Congratulations to Cheryl Hennings on finishing 2 U.K.C. Champions on the
same weekend: Velikaya's Hamania ("Lizzy") and Cherrysh My Trustworthy Toby.
Lizzy was bred by Isabella Zirri and Toby was bred by Cheryl and her husband
Jerry. Both dogs finished their championships at the Wisconsin Toy Fox
Terrier Club Shows in Burlington, WI the weekend of July 14 &15, 2001.
Joseph makes the cut for BIS
Ch. Cherrysh's Coat of Many Colors, "Joseph", made the cut for BIS at the
Wisconsin Toy Fox Terrier Club Show #1 in Burlington, WI on July 14.
Joseph was bred by Jerry and Cheryl Hennings and was ably shown over the
weekend by Craig Oskow.
ICDCA named National Breed Association
The ICDCA was named U.K.C.'s National Breed Association for the Canaan
Dog in January 2001.
New U.K.C. Champions
Congratulations to UCD Kochav Ole me Shaar Hagai and Cherrysh's Coat of
Many Colors, for earning their U.K.C. Championship. Tal is owned and
handled by Victor Kaftal of Cincinnati, OH and Joseph is owned by Jerry and
Cheryl Hennings of Denver, IA and handled by Cheryl.
Adam passes his Herding Instinct Test
Adam Logan passed his Herding Instinct Test with flying colors. Adam
is owned by Beth Logan of Wyomissing, PA.
Micah earns his AKC CD and a VCX in the process!
UAGII Ch. Micah Haviv me Kansas, NA, TT, CGC, VC completed his AKC CD in
4 straight shows this fall. His scores were 190.5, 195, 195, 196.
He was either first, or tied for first, in the Novice A class each time.
This new title completed the requirements for Micah's ICDCA VCX (Versatility
Companion Excellent) title. Micah is bred, owned, trained, and handled
by Lee Boyd of Topeka, KS.
New AKC Champion
Cherrysh My Klever Kyra finished her AKC Championship with all of her points
coming from majors. Kyra is owned by Sheryl Glass and was bred by
Cheryl and Jerry Hennings. Kyra's sire is AKC/UKC/ICDCA Ch. Bay Path's
Amitz, CGC and her dam is Briel's Hatikvah bat Ariel ROM, CGC. She
was ably handled to her championship by Junior Handler Stephanie Webb from
Jack Rowe's team in Alaska.
New Canaan Dog Club - Italy
There is a new club for the Canaan Dog, in Italy, the Club Italiano Canaan
Dog (CICD). They have their own website .
New AKC Champion
Velikaya's Hamania, "Lizzy", finished her AKC Championship on July 22 by
going Best of Winners at the Anoka County Kennel Club Show in Minnesota.
Lizzy was bred by Isabella Zirri of Italy, and is owned by Jerry and Cheryl
Hennings and shown by Cheryl.
New Canaan Dog Book Published
Lee Boyd and Victor Kaftal's book Canaan Dog, a complete and reliable
handbook has just been published. Look for it in our Canaan Dog Merchandise section.

Tal earns his AKC CD
U-CD Kochav Ole me Shaar Hagai, popularly known as Tal, finished his CD
this May in 3 trials. Tal is owned and trained by Victor Kaftal of
Cincinnati, OH.

Toby was bred by Jerry and Cheryl Hennings and shown by Coleen and Rene
Rapier and Cheryl Hennings of Iowa.
New International Champion
Velikaya's Lahatutan, "Norby" recently finished his International Championship.
Norby is bred, owned, and handled by Isabella Zirri.
Tycho earns his CD
Starting the new year off right, Fuligin Ged Tycho, CD, HC, CGC earned
his CD on January 15, 2000 from the Novice A class. The proud handler
is Jennie Larkin. Their scores were 185.5, 189.5, and 189.5.

Lada's Happy Halloween
Max's Lada L.P. Tigger Pooh, NA owned by Alan and Sylvia Gersman
and handled by Alan, earned her Novice Agility title on October 31, 1999!
